In this blog I will discuss the CAFO system. In the book The CAFO reader, written by Daniel Imhoff. It say, that since fast food restaurants are expanding there is a greater demand for meat, hence the CAFO system was implemented. The transition began in 1950, the primary reason is to produce meat at a faster rate, the animals will be confined and given antibiotics to increase their growth. So the older system, was depleted. No more raising of animals in pastures. It is too costly and takes longer to produce meat for consumption. The CAFO system is not without controversy. Lmhoff
